The Balochistan Education Department has suspended 32 teachers and staff members for allegedly participating in protests and disrupting academic activities during the provincial budget session.
According to a departmental statement, authorities suspended 26 employees under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act, 2011.
These individuals face disciplinary action for taking an active part in the Balochistan Grand Alliance (BGA) protest movement, which led to their arrest by police on the day of the budget session.
The suspended staff members represent several districts, including Quetta, Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Zhob, Loralai, and Pishin.
In a separate move, the department suspended six additional teachers from Pishin. Officials accused them of forcibly closing schools and halting educational activities following a strike call from the BGA.
The Education Department emphasized that these measures target the preservation of academic discipline and ensure that educational institutions remain functional during political movements.
District education officers have received instructions to monitor attendance and report any further unauthorized absences or school closures.
