Loads Ltd Explores JV With Chinese Firm to Expand Into Copper Sector

Loads Limited is exploring an expansion into Pakistan’s copper industry through a potential joint venture with China’s Anhui New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Xinhuida), while both companies are also evaluating acquisition opportunities in the country’s copper manufacturing sector.

The company informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Xinhuida to explore cooperation in Pakistan and international markets. The proposed partnership covers copper trading, processing, manufacturing, exports, strategic investments, technology transfer, supply chain integration, and other commercial opportunities.

As an initial step, the two companies plan to pursue copper trading and supply chain opportunities while assessing the feasibility of establishing a joint venture in Pakistan. The venture could focus on investments in copper, advanced copper materials, value added products, and technology intensive industrial businesses.

The parties are also considering potential acquisitions in Pakistan’s copper manufacturing industry to create a platform for expansion and export led growth. The collaboration may include setting up new manufacturing facilities, transferring technology, and introducing advanced copper materials, wiring solutions, energy infrastructure products, and components for domestic and international markets.

Xinhuida operates an integrated business spanning recycled copper rods, copper processing, power and communication cables, EV wiring systems, digital energy harnesses, photovoltaic connectors, semiconductor related components, and other copper based materials and products.

Loads said all proposed arrangements, including any joint venture or acquisition, remain subject to due diligence, negotiations, definitive agreements, and necessary corporate and regulatory approvals. The company added that discussions are currently at a preliminary stage and there is no assurance that a transaction will ultimately materialize.
