Murree Mall Road to Remain Restricted to Traffic for 2 Days

Murree Police have finalized a comprehensive security plan and issued a travel advisory for Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure public safety and facilitate tourists visiting the hill station.

District Police Officer (DPO) Murree Dr. Muhammad Raza Tanvir said the main Ashura procession on 10th Muharram will begin from the central Imambargah in Lower Bazaar, pass through Mall Road and conclude at the same location.

To ensure security arrangements, traffic and tourist movement on Mall Road and adjoining areas will remain restricted on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The DPO advised tourists planning to visit Murree during the period to follow the travel advisory and avoid restricted areas. He clarified that all other tourist attractions and recreational spots in and around Murree will remain open and accessible to visitors.

Dr. Tanvir also encouraged tourists and residents to download the official “Safe Tourism Murree” mobile application, which provides live traffic updates, alternative routes and other important security information. He said Murree Police will remain on high alert throughout Muharram to assist both residents and tourists.
