The All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) has welcomed action taken by government agencies against an allegedly illegal cement manufacturing unit operating under the name Red Bull Cement on the Sargodha-Faisalabad Road.
In a statement issued on Monday, the association said the unit, allegedly linked to Rohri Cement, was sealed and its operations suspended following a joint inspection by the Federal Board of Revenue, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the District Industries Department.
According to APCMA, authorities found that the facility was operating without mandatory approvals, registrations, environmental clearances, and other statutory permissions required under the law.
The association praised the agencies for taking what it described as timely and decisive action, saying illegal cement production results in tax losses for the government and creates an uneven playing field for manufacturers that comply with environmental, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
APCMA said Pakistan’s cement industry contributes billions of rupees in taxes each year and adheres to regulations issued by the FBR, EPA, and other authorities. It urged regulators to strengthen oversight mechanisms to identify and take action against non-compliant units before they can cause further harm to the sector.
The association said it remains committed to supporting government efforts aimed at eliminating unlawful industrial activity and promoting a transparent and sustainable business environment for the cement industry.
