KP Ends Work From Home for Govt Employees

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially ended its “work from home” policy for Fridays, restoring it as a regular working day for all provincial public offices.

According to a formal notification issued following a provincial cabinet decision, all government employees must now ensure full attendance in their respective offices on Fridays.

The updated policy requires offices to resume normal operations, ending the previous arrangement that allowed staff to work remotely one day a week.

The provincial government had originally introduced the Friday work-from-home policy as part of an austerity drive.

The initiative aimed to reduce operational costs, including electricity consumption and fuel expenses for government vehicles, while limiting staff presence in offices.

However, after reviewing the current administrative requirements, the provincial cabinet has decided to revert to a full five-day in-office work week.

Authorities have dispatched instructions to all government departments and directorates to ensure immediate implementation of the new schedule and maintain standard service delivery to the public.
