Pakistani-Born Citizen Gets Major Role in Germany’s Largest Political Party

A Pakistani-born professional based in Germany has been elected to a district executive position in the Christian Democratic Union (CDU).

Nouman Aziz announced that he had been elected to the District Executive Board of the CDU Kreisverband Frankenthal as a Beisitzer, a board member role within the party’s local leadership structure.

Calling it a deeply meaningful moment, Aziz said the development was not just a personal achievement but also a sign of the growing contribution of Pakistanis to German society and politics. He added that, if confirmed, he may be among the first Pakistanis to serve on a CDU district executive board in Germany.

Aziz said he hopes to use the role to serve the people of Frankenthal, promote a positive image of Pakistan in Germany, and help strengthen people-to-people, economic, and political ties between the two countries.

The CDU is one of Germany’s biggest and most influential political parties and remains a major force in the country’s center-right political landscape. Along with its Bavarian sister party, the CSU, it forms the powerful CDU/CSU alliance that has long played a central role in German national politics.

Professionally, Aziz works in global human resources and talent management. He is based in Frankenthal and serves as a Global Talent Management Expert at KSB, an international manufacturer of pumps and valves.

He holds a Global Professional in Human Resources certification and works in areas related to international talent strategy and organizational development. He also holds an MPhil and has been a doctoral candidate at Glasgow Caledonian University.
