The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated Rs. 1.1 billion in its budget for players’ monthly salaries and match fees, with 45 cricketers set to receive contracts across five categories this year.
Under the new structure, players in Category A/B for Test and ODI cricket will receive Rs. 1.5 million for a Test, Rs. 750,000 for an ODI and Rs. 500,000 for a T20I.
Category A players for Test cricket will also earn Rs. 1.5 million per Test, while their ODI and T20I match fees have been set at Rs. 650,000 and Rs. 450,000, respectively.
Players in Category B/C for ODI and T20I cricket will receive Rs. 900,000 for Tests, Rs. 750,000 for ODIs and Rs. 500,000 for T20Is. Meanwhile, Category C players for T20 Internationals will get Rs. 700,000 for Tests and Rs. 500,000 each for ODIs and T20Is.
Currently, all 30 centrally contracted players receive Rs. 1,257,795 for Tests, Rs. 644,620 for ODIs and Rs. 418,584 for T20Is.
There has been no change in the men’s domestic central contracts. A total of 175 players will receive contracts across four categories. Category One will include 30 players, who will be paid Rs. 350,000 per month.
Category Two will have 55 players earning Rs. 250,000 per month, while another 55 players in Category Three will receive Rs. 150,000 per month. Category Four will include 35 young players, who will be paid Rs. 140,000 per month.
The PCB has also increased the match fee for Quaid-e-Azam Trophy players from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 100,000. Reserve players will now receive Rs. 50,000 per match instead of Rs. 15,000.
Women cricketers’ central contract fees have also been revised. The first four categories have received a 33.33 percent increase, while the last category has been given a 50 percent raise.
Category A players will now receive Rs. 600,000 instead of Rs. 450,000, while Category B players will earn Rs. 500,000, up from Rs. 375,000. Category C players will get Rs. 300,000 after an increase of Rs. 75,000, while Category D players will receive Rs. 200,000 instead of Rs. 150,000. Category E players will now be paid Rs. 150,000, compared to the previous Rs. 100,000.
There has been no change in the women’s domestic central contracts. In the Gold category, 20 players will receive Rs. 55,000 per month, while 50 players in the Silver category will earn Rs. 40,000 per month.
Match fees for senior women and Under-19 cricketers have also been increased. Senior women’s ODI fees will rise from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 150,000, while T20 fees will go up from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 100,000.
Under-19 players will now receive Rs. 80,000 for ODIs instead of Rs. 60,000, while their T20 match fee has been increased from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000.
The PCB has also decided to introduce two new tournaments in women’s domestic cricket: Super Three One-Day and Super Three T20. The Super Three One-Day tournament will cost Rs. 70.57 million, while the Super Three T20 tournament will cost Rs. 59.13 million.
