Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) today announced its Executive Management team, marking the next chapter in the leadership of the newly amalgamated company.
Following the Competition Commission of Pakistan’s (CCP) order requiring separate management from PTCL Group, Hatem Bamatraf has stepped down from his role as President and Chief Execu tive Officer of PTCL, and will continue as President and Chief Executive Officer of PTML, where he will lead and focus on the newly amalgamated MergeCo (PTML) and drive its integration and growth.
Mr. Bamatraf has played a pivotal role throughout this transformation, overseeing the acquisition process, integration planning and laying the foundation for the newly amalgamated organization. He has extensive international telecommunications leadership and deep expertise in managing multi-market operations, large-scale infrastructure investments, and digital ecosystem developments.
Through Scheme of Arrangement approved by the Islamabad High Court, the amalgamation brings together the strengths of both organizations under PTML, creating a unified telecommunications company positioned to accelerate network leadership, digital innovation, enhanced customer experience, and sustainable growth across Pakistan. Atif Raza, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Atif Raza brings more than two decades of experience across Pakistan’s telecom industry, with deep expertise across commercial strategy, business transformation, customer experience, product development, pricing, and revenue growth. He has successfully led large-scale commercial initiatives, delivering sustained business performance while driving innovation and customer-centric growth. As Chief Commercial Officer, he will direct the end-to-end commercial strategy to accelerate growth and strengthen the company’s market leadership.
Awais Vohra, Chief Technology and AI Officer (CTO) Awais Vohra brings more than 26 years of leadership across networks, digital transformation, AI, and telecom strategy across Pakistan, Scandinavia, and the Asia Pacific region. He most recently served as Interim CEO of Telenor Pakistan, steering the company through a complex ownership transition while delivering solid growth. As Chief Technology and AI Officer, Awais will lead PTML’s technology vision, execution, and AI strategy for the newly combined entity, building a strong organization and unified network capable of powering the next phase of growth.
Mudasser Shafiq, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) With nearly two decades of experience across finance, business partnering, financial planning, and mergers & acquisitions, Mudasser has been instrumental in shaping PTML’s trajectory from the outset. He played a key role in the acquisition and integration of Telenor Pakistan, working closely across both organisations to help deliver one of the country’s most significant telecom transactions. His deep understanding of the combined business positions him well to lead PTML’s finance function into its next chapter.
Areej Khan, Chief People Officer (CPO) Areej Khan brings more than two decades of leadership experience across people, digital, products, communications, and organizational transformation. She has successfully led and been instrumental in the change and integration initiatives. She will lead efforts to build a high-performing organization where talent, leadership, and culture enable long-term success.
Shan ul Haq, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) Shan ul Haq, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer (CCAO) Shan ul Haq possesses diverse leadership experience and has held senior roles in corporate affairs, regulatory strategy, public policy, human resources, and commercial functions. His broad understanding of the industry and strong stakeholder relationships will be instrumental in advancing PTML’s external engagement and strategic priorities.
Khawaja Shehzad Ullah, Chief Consumer Business Officer (CCBO) Khawaja Shehzad Ullah holds over three decades of experience in consumer sales, channel management, and retail operations. He has built and led high-performing commercial teams across the country. As part of commercial division, he will be responsible for driving PTML’s consumer business and strengthening its market leadership.
Bilal Javed Bhatti, Chief Business Officer (CBO) Bilal Javed Bhatti brings more than 20 years of experience across enterprise sales, customer management, sales operations, and business growth. Having successfully led Telenor Pakistan’s Business Division, he has consistently delivered strong commercial outcomes and will now lead PTML’s business segment as part of commercial division.
Haider Latif Sandhu, Senior Vice President, Governance, Legal & Compliance. Company Secretary With more than 26 years of experience in governance, legal and compliance, Haider has played a central role in managing risks, supporting the Board and guiding major strategic transactions, including the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan and the subsequent amalgamation. He will continue to strengthen PTML’s governance framework and legal foundation.
Abdullah Hameed Head of Internal Audit, brings more than 25 years of experience in internal audit, governance, and enterprise risk management. Prior to this, he held senior audit and risk leadership roles within PTCL Group for over two decades. His experience spans financial, operational, and technology assurance, enterprise risk management, governance, and includes leading key oversight assurance assignments across group subsidiaries. He brings extensive expertise in supporting organizations to strengthen their assurance, risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks.
The management team under the President & CEO positions the organisation to leverage deep industry expertise, complementary strengths, and a shared operational mandate.
