PSX Plunges Below 182,000 After US-Iran War Returns

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a sharp sell-off on Wednesday as escalating US-Iran tensions triggered panic among investors and pushed the benchmark KSE-100 Index down by 4,626 points.

Investor sentiment deteriorated after US President Donald Trump declared the Iran ceasefire effectively over, followed by fresh US strikes on Iranian targets.

The KSE-100 Index fell to an intraday low of 179,504 points before closing at 181,629 points, down 4,626 points or 2.48%.

Topline Securities said the market decline was also driven by profit-taking after a strong recent rally, with investors booking gains amid heightened uncertainty despite positive domestic economic indicators.

Among major index contributors, UBL, FFC, ENGROH, LUCK, and HUBC were the biggest drags, collectively pulling the benchmark lower by around 1,528 points.
