The US Embassy in Pakistan has announced that regular consular services at its missions in Lahore and Karachi will resume from July 20, 2026.
According to the embassy, the U.S. Consulate General Lahore will reopen for U.S. Citizen Services, while the U.S. Consulate General Karachi will resume both U.S. Citizen Services and non-immigrant visa processing on the same date.
The announcement marks the return of regular operations at the two consulates, allowing applicants in Punjab and Sindh to once again access consular and visa services closer to home.
The U.S. Embassy advised Pakistani applicants seeking non-immigrant visas, as well as American citizens requiring consular assistance, to visit its official website for appointment bookings, eligibility requirements, and other service-related information.
While the embassy did not explain why services had previously been suspended, it confirmed that both consulates will resume normal operations from July 20.
Applicants are encouraged to check the embassy’s official website for the latest guidance before scheduling their appointments.
