RDA Seals 11 Buildings in Crackdown on Illegal Construction in Rawalpindi

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) sealed 11 buildings, including a multi-story structure, during an operation against illegal construction and building regulation violations in housing schemes.

According to an RDA spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the directions of the competent authority as part of the agency’s ongoing campaign against unauthorized developments.

The RDA Enforcement Squad sealed eight illegally constructed residential buildings and two commercial buildings. Another multi-story building was sealed for violating its approved building plan and other relevant regulations.

The action was taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, and other applicable planning laws.

The operation was led by Deputy Director Planning Muhammad Daud, along with Building Inspector Shafiqur Rahman and members of the enforcement squad.

The spokesperson said the campaign aims to prevent illegal construction, promote planned urban development, and protect genuine property owners and investors.

He added that the authority would continue taking legal action against unauthorized construction without discrimination.
