Sindh Orders Province-Wide Audit of Govt College Facilities

The Sindh government has ordered a province-wide audit of facilities and supplies at public colleges after reports that furniture, computers, and laboratory items were missing from some institutions.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Sindh Secretary for College Education Nadeemur Rehman Memon, where officials reviewed items purchased for government colleges during the 2021-2025 fiscal years.

Memon directed all government college principals to physically verify the supplied furniture, computers, and laboratory items and submit certificates confirming their receipt.

The verified records must be sent to the department within the prescribed timeframe.

Taking notice of the missing items, the secretary ordered notices to be issued to former drawing and disbursing officers and the contractors concerned. He also directed officials to take legal action against anyone found responsible.

The meeting also approved the creation of a province-wide database containing details of the infrastructure, facilities, and requirements of every government college.

Officials were instructed to compile the information within a specified period to support future development planning.
