Sindh to Fire Over 10,000 Education Department Employees

The Sindh government has decided to dismiss more than 10,000 employees of the School Education Department after declaring them “ghost employees” for remaining absent from duty.

According to reports, those facing dismissal include primary school teachers, junior elementary school teachers, naib qasids, watchmen, gardeners, and lab attendants.

The School Education Department had issued show cause notices to the employees, but officials said they failed to provide satisfactory explanations for their absence.

The government plans to begin dismissing the identified ghost employees from August as part of its efforts to improve accountability and attendance in the education sector.
