QAU Bans Staff From Accepting Sweets, Gifts or Hospitality From Students

Quaid-e-Azam University has introduced a strict policy banning its officers and employees from accepting or demanding sweets, gifts, meals, or any other form of hospitality from students in exchange for official services.

According to an official notification issued by the Registrar’s Office, university staff is now prohibited from requesting or accepting any gifts or hospitality while processing degrees, certificates, clearance documents, or other administrative matters.

The order also makes it clear that no officer or employee is allowed to put any kind of pressure on students during official procedures.

The university said all administrative cases and official matters will be handled strictly on merit and with complete transparency to ensure fair and equal treatment for every student.

The administration noted that the practice of asking for sweets, gifts or meals creates unnecessary financial and social pressure on students and employees. It said such practices are inconsistent with the university’s commitment to professionalism, integrity and good governance.

The university warned that any officer or employee found violating the new policy will face strict disciplinary and departmental action.

Heads of all academic departments and administrative offices have been directed to enforce the new instructions without exception. The university has also set up a complaint mechanism, allowing students and employees to report any violations directly to the Registrar’s Office.
