Redmi Pad 2 9.7 Launches in Pakistan With WiFi and 4G Models

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 WiFi and Redmi Pad 2 9.7 4G in Pakistan.

The new tablet is now listed in Pakistan in both connectivity versions. The WiFi model is the cheaper option, while the 4G model adds SIM support for mobile data. Currently, the price for the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 WiFi is Rs. 55,799, and the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 4G is Rs. 63,499.

Design and Display

Both Redmi Pad 2 9.7 models have the same basic design and screen.

The tablet has a metal unibody design and comes in Graphite Gray and Silver. It measures 226.51mm in height, 147.97mm in width, and 7.4mm in thickness. The WiFi model weighs 406g, while the 4G model weighs 401g.

The tablet features a 9.7-inch 2K LCD with a 2048 x 1280 resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 250 PPI pixel density. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, up to an 180Hz touch sampling rate, 500-nit typical brightness, and 600-nit outdoor-mode brightness.

The display also carries TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certifications. Both models also include stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Internals and Software

Both tablets use the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset, built on a 6nm process.

The chipset has an octa-core CPU and Adreno 610 GPU. Xiaomi says the processor can reach a clock speed of up to 2.9GHz.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The global specs list 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB variants, with microSD expansion support up to 2TB.

In Pakistan, the WiFi model is listed in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB options. The 4G model is listed locally in a 4GB + 128GB option.

Both models run Xiaomi HyperOS 3. Connectivity on the WiFi model includes WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi Direct, Miracast, and USB Type-C. The 4G model adds Dual SIM Dual 4G support, with 2G, 3G, and 4G bands. It also adds GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, and an electronic compass.

Cameras

Both Redmi Pad 2 9.7 models have the same cameras.

The rear camera is an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and 1.12μm pixel size. It can record 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 30fps.

On the front, the tablet has a 5MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.12μm pixel size. The front camera also supports 1080p video at 30fps and 720p video at 30fps.

Both tablets also support AI face unlock.

Battery and Pricing

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 WiFi and 4G models both have a 7,600 mAh battery.

Both versions support 18W fast charging through USB Type-C, but the box includes a 15W charger.

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 WiFi is listed at Rs. 55,799, while the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 4G is listed at Rs. 63,499.

The main difference is connectivity. The WiFi model is cheaper and lighter in price, while the 4G model costs more but adds SIM support, mobile data, and satellite navigation features.
