The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued a travel advisory, warning motorists to exercise caution as heavy monsoon rains are expected to affect several parts of the country from July 24 to July 28.
According to the advisory, widespread rainfall is likely in southern and central regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Sindh, and Balochistan.
The NHMP warned that heavy rain could trigger landslides in Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while urban flooding may occur in several areas of Punjab and Sindh.
The motorway police urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the spell of bad weather and to follow traffic rules while driving.
The NHMP also advised motorists to check road and weather conditions before starting their journey. Travelers can obtain the latest information by calling the NHMP helpline 130 or following the department’s official social media accounts.
