A new leak from notable tipster Digital Chat Station says the OnePlus 16 is coming in October with massive upgrades in camera and battery, along with a brand new chipset.
Tipster Digital Chat Station says the current OnePlus 16 prototype continues the design introduced with the OnePlus 15 rather than bringing another major visual overhaul.
The phone is still under development, and OnePlus has not officially confirmed its specifications or launch date.
Digital Chat Station says the OnePlus 16 is expected to pack a battery with a capacity of around 9,000mAh, which is a massive upgrade over the OnePlus 15’s 7,300 mAh unit. OnePlus 15 is already known as a battery champion.
Previous reports have also linked the phone with 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Other leaks have mentioned 120W wired charging, suggesting that the charging specifications may not yet be final.
Earlier leaks point to a major camera upgrade for the OnePlus 16.
The rear setup could include a 200MP camera alongside 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto cameras.
However, reports have differed over the exact configuration. Other leaks suggest OnePlus has been testing a 200MP periscope telephoto camera instead of using the 200MP sensor as the main camera.
OnePlus has not confirmed the final camera hardware yet.
The OnePlus 16 is expected to use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset.
Previous reports also suggest the device could become one of the first OnePlus phones to ship with ColorOS 17 based on Android 17.
The OnePlus 16 is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat display surrounded by extremely thin and symmetrical bezels.
The screen reportedly uses LIPO packaging technology, which allows manufacturers to reduce the space around the display.
Previous reports have suggested the bezels could measure less than 1mm, while the screen may support a refresh rate of up to 185Hz.
On the back, OnePlus is expected to retain the compact square camera module used on the OnePlus 15.
The OnePlus 15 marked a major design change for the company by replacing the large circular camera module found on earlier flagships with a smaller square arrangement.
According to the latest leak, OnePlus currently plans to launch the OnePlus 16 in October.
Digital Chat Station also said the competing iQOO 16 could arrive during the same month, as the late-September flagship launch schedule is already expected to be crowded.
OnePlus has not announced an official launch date, so the October timeframe remains unconfirmed.
