It seems that our humanity is on the brink of extinction. We have witnessed so many cases of violence and abuse of power in the past few years yet the numbers of such instances still keep on growing.
A tragic incident was reported in Lahore where a teenage maid died at the hands of her employers. According to the police, 14 year-old Sana was tortured to death on Tuesday, December 31.
The Commission of a Crime
In the initial investigation, the police identified that Sana died at the residence of her employer, Dr. Humairah. Bruises on her body directly pointed at the fact that she was beaten repeatedly.
When the police interrogated Dr. Humairah and her husband, they feigned ignorance and said that she had fallen from the stairs. The husband and wife were immediately arrested and a case was filed against them.
It was later revealed that the lady of the house often used to beat Sana on her mistakes. The teen eventually fell ill, and lost her life.
“Some days back, Dr Humaira beat her up severely with a bailna (wooden roller) leaving life-threatening bruises on her body,” said the investigation in charge.
The employers were not only cruel enough to abuse their power, but did not even take her to the hospital. On Tuesday, when they returned from their designated jobs, they found Sana dead.
Both Humairah and her husband will be presented before the court on Thursday and will be charged guilty.
Who is at Fault?
The notion that “doctors save lives” was just ridiculed by this so-called savior of mankind. It is people like Dr Humairah that are ruining the society and because of them, a certain profession also comes under the red light.
As a society, we should work on human rights, especially for the poor and the weak. If we remain ignorant, then God knows how many incidents like this will keep occurring. We hope this is the end and no more lives are wasted in the name of power and property.

I must say that torturing a servant is a very sad affair. The employers think that they have purchased them and treat them as if these poor people are their slaves.
In Islam even the slaves were respected like any one else.
If found guilty she should be hang to death
