Strings has evolved the most in the Pakistani music scene. The duo is constantly reinventing their sound to keep it modern.
From slow blues to a splash of rock, Strings the band is really an eternal pop duo. Yet at the same time they sound unique and are never lost in the sea of pop music.
For that very reason we’re counting down the top 10 tracks by Strings, who comprise of Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia. Here’s a look at their music evolution.
Contents
1. Sajni
Sajni is set as a conversation between a man and his shrink. Sometimes we just need someone to listen, or something to listen too. In those moments Sajni is the track for you. PS: Its a love song.
2. Urr Jaoon
Escapism isn’t just limited to art. Song scan do that too with the right tempo and and lyrics. Urr Jaoon happens to be a good example of that. The visuals do help but just the melody alone serves as enough of an escape.
3. Duur
Who doesn’t remember Strings’ Duur? Its a throwback to the days when Strings sounded like an indie band.
The depth of their lyrics is out of this world, and we’re glad that this hasn’t changed over the years.
4. Mera Bichara Yaar
Although a love song, Mera Bichraa Yaar hits that sweet spot between soulful and mellow. It’s just that the version with Zoe Viccaji was pretty good but nothing compares to the Strings’ original song.
5. Chaaye Chaaye
The best example of what a flirtatious but classy song looks like. The best song you could dedicate to your crush for a not-so-subtle confession.
6. Kahani Mohabbat Ki
This is a break-up ballad you can jam to. The contagious rhythm does not take away from the emotive lyrics. Kahani Mohabbat Ki has that perfect balance.
7. Sar Kiye
The motivational anthem of the early 2000s, this song is just as catchy today. We like this over the recent Coke Studio remake.
8. Dhaani
This love song can teach us a thing or too. Dhaani drives home the point that our words matter, and we should learn how to pay a compliment.
9. Najanay Kyun
Believe it or not, this song was part of the Spiderman 2 soundtrack. Its the perfect track to reminiscence to when Tobey McGuire was Spiderman.
10. Soniye
Sohniye plays up on Strings’ indie rock band vibes. This song is as well-tailored as the clothing trends of the time. Besides that, Strings’ indie rock band vibes were a breath of fresh air in an era of boy bands.
