Another instance of necrophilia has been discovered in Karachi. A group of unidentified men dug up the grave of a woman in Karachi’s Landhi Town area and raped the dead body.
With all the stigma around the heinous crime, the deceased’s family said they did not wish to file any cases regarding the horrible incident. Police have gathered evidence from the site of the crime.
Relatives of the deceased will not file charges but appealed that such traumatic events should not take place in the future.

Possible Suspect
The woman had a freshly dug grave and had been buried just a day earlier.
It is unclear how many men were involved in this, or how the family was alerted. When the family were alerted, a large number of the late woman’s relatives, as well as her neighbors, arrived at the Ismail Goth Graveyard.
The family said the crypt-keeper responsible for the maintenance in the graveyard told them that ‘a dog had removed the slab from the freshly-made grave‘. They thought that ‘explantion; sounded more like a cover-up, since they believed a dog is not capable of removing a slab from a grave.

Later the grave-digger also vanished from the graveyard. Police confirmed that the grave-digger was nowhere to be found. They said searches are being carried out to look for and detain the grave-digger.
Necrophilia in Pakistan
If the grave-digger is found guilty, this isn’t the first time graveyard staff is involved in such a heinous crime. Back in 2011, a grave keeper Muhammad Rizwan from North Nazimabad, Karachi was arrested for necrophilia.
He was arrested after he confessed to raping 48 female corpses. Rizwan was caught in the act of running away after desecrating a corpse. He caught the attention of nearby grave diggers and some other people.
Rizwan had been working at the graveyard for eight years. He picked freshly dig graves to avoid being caught.
