A 27-year-old female was found dead on Monday. According to reports, the woman, Urooj Iqbal, was shot by her husband, Dilawar Ali, for not quitting her job.
It was only seven months ago, that the couple tied the knot. Both Urooj and Dilawar worked at Urdu Daily. Though it was a love marriage, after the passage of time, tensions started to develop between the two.
While Urooj was entering her office in Qila Gujjar Singh in central Lahore, Dilawar came in pointing a gun at her and shot her in her head. She expired on the spot.
She was rushed to the hospital but it was already been too late.

Police investigation
As per the authorities, Dost Muhammad, a senior police officer said:
“We have registered an FIR against the victim’s husband working in another Urdu daily, on the complaint of Urooj’s brother Yasir Iqbal.”
In the FIR, Yasir also mentioned that the two usually had arguments on petty issues on a daily basis, one of the biggest issues was her not resigning from her job.
He further revealed that Dilawar had been torturing her over it, and that Urooj had even lodged a complaint against him. However, no action was taken against him.
Urooj herself was a crime scene news reporter. Due to all the drama at home, Urooj had been staying in a room adjoining the office in the same building.
According to the police, they have got hold of the CCTV footage and had sent it for forensic analysis.
This is not the first time a woman was allegedly killed by her husband. Such crimes are increasing over time. Just recently, a man killed his pregnant wife and son over an everyday argument.
