Is his last tie to Pakistan gone?

Looks like Shahrukh Khan’s last tie to Pakistan is gone forever as the Bollywood megastar’s cousin Noor Jehan is no more.

SRK’s paternal cousin died of cancer in her hometown Peshawar. Noor was a local political leader, and her funeral prayer was offered near the famous Qissa Khwani Bazar.

She contested the General Elections 2018 from the provincial assembly constituency PK-77 as an independent candidate. She lost the seat due to lack of support from a major political party.

Noor Jehan had also served as a district and town councilor of the Awami National Party (ANP).

Shahrukh Khan’s cousin was living in her ancestral home in the Shah Wali Qatal area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial capital. According to reports, Bollywood’s Badshah had twice visited the home during his childhood accompanying his parents.

The two cousins remained in touch and Noor Jehan even visited SRK in India. When she celebrated the Indian actor’s birthday at home, it made headlines.

Many Indians from across the border have family ties in Pakistan. Surprisingly even Bollywood stars have family roots that can be traced back to Peshawar (such as the famous Kapoor family).

Previously, Bollywood veteran Rishi Kapoor requested the Pakistani government to turn his Peshawar home into a museum.
