Much like Govinda, it seems 90s starlet Juhi Chawla might be losing it. The Ishq actress claims she ‘made stars out of everybody else’ during her film career.
Juhi Chawla was among the Bollywood’s most popular actresses in the 90s. The actress became an instant favorite with her debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The 1988 hit film cast Juhi opposite Aamir Khan.
That fame got to her head the starlet admitted in an interview with journalist Rajeev Masand. The actress made some bizarre statements on her appearance in ‘Women We Love’.

As a result of her ‘ego‘, she turned down some of Bollywood’s greatest hits like Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and Raja Hindustani (1996).
“I became pig-headed. I suddenly thought the industry will stop if I don’t work. I got some amazing chances to work in films, but my ego came in the way … I didn’t do some films which I could have done, which may have been harder work and more competitive.”
According to Juhi Chawla by rejecting roles initially offered to her, she ‘made stars out of everybody else’. That somebody else was none other than Karisma Kapoor.
“I didn’t go Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), I didn’t do Raja Hindustani (1996). I made stars out of everybody else.”
For context, these are two of Karishma’s greatest hits. Juhi even joked around that she’s responsible for Karishma’s stardom.
“Absolutely. I am responsible for her stardom.”
The Darr actress even mentioned how she didn’t challenge herself to grow as an actor.
“I just didn’t do them because I wanted the easy stuff and I wanted to work with people I was comfortable with. I didn’t break barriers.”
Despite turning down great offers, she still doesn’t regret a thing.
“Regret? I think it was a lesson in my life. When you make mistakes, you learn … I realized the moment you start flying in your head, you think you’re the cat’s whiskers, you start making mistakes.”
Juhi Chawla’s Career
As the actress mentioned she peaked early with her debut. Yet turning down great roles and other professional practices prevented her from growing any further.

Later the actress went on to create her own production house, Dreamz Unlimited alongside Shahrukh Khan and director Aziz Mirza. Together they created films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Asoka, Chalte Chalte, etc.
That didn’t last either as later Shahrukh Khan started Red Chillies Entertainment with his wife Gauri Khan, who became the producer of Main Hoon Na. in which Khan starred as well.
