Pakistani celebrities seem to be divided into two factions right now. One side wants a ban on the popular Turkish series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, as it is ‘jeopardizing’ their career and the entertainment industry.
The other side, however, does not have any issues with it. Instead, they want Pakistani directors/producers to create similar content with the quality that people need.
Following this ‘hot debate’, Pakistani starlet Neelam Muneer has also shared her point of view. The Dil Mom Ka Diya actress said that the appeal of Ertuğrul transcends beyond nations and languages because it talks about one religion, i.e. Islam.
“Even though I respect views of everyone in my fraternity but I feel it’s not the matter of Turkish content or Pakistani content. We should look beyond and understand that its Islamic content, which has so much wisdom and teaches us the history and the values of Muslims. They gave their lives for justice and remained on Allah’s path. And they kept Islam alive. It’s like reading a book which is full of great history of Muslims.”

Neelam Muneer also stressed the need to create content like Diriliş: Ertuğrul in Pakistan.
“Let’s just feel proud of our Islamic heritage and get motivated and also create content in Pakistan which we should also be proud of.”
