This 16 Year Old Tea Seller Topped His Exams, But Forced into Work To Feed Family

He deserves better opportunities.

We often forget how success has more to do with opportunities rather than a person’s aptitude. We were reminded of this recently when a photo of a matriculation student from Multan went viral yesterday.

A photograph of a 16-year-old boy from Multan, Muhammad Huzaifa, is making rounds on the Internet. This little boy secured 1050 marks in his matriculation exam. You heard that right. This child scored a full 1050/1050 in his matriculation exam.

However, rather than pursuing higher education, Muhammad Huzaifa is selling drinks in Ghala Mandi to feed his family. He’s been offered a scholarship at a private college, but he can’t quit his job.

As the sole breadwinner for his five siblings and mother, he doesn’t have the privilege of thinking about higher education.

Forget higher education, he wouldn’t even have been able to pay for higher secondary education.

His viral fame did turn up something good though. Now Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal will fund the education of Muhammad Huzaifa and his five siblings.

Managing Director of Bait-ul-Mal, Aon Abbas Buppi revealed that the welfare body reached out to the boy and his family.

MD Bait-ul-Mal also stated that they will provide financial aid to the children as well so that their education doesn’t snuff out their stove.

Bait-ul-Mal funds the education of financially struggling students into university. However, there’s a catch. There’s a financial limit on how much per annum the welfare body will provide to one family.

Given how expensive university fees are, Bait-ul-Mal will be unable to fund all of their university education simultaneously.

We hope the government or other universities can pitch in to help these kids out.
