Word is that the Devdas star is making her comeback on the big screen with Ponniyin Selvan-I. The Mani Ratnam movie is a historical fiction film in Tamil. So we see the former Miss World really expanding her range.
Madras Talkies, the production house behind this film, shared the first look at the Dhoom 3 diva’s character. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is dressed like a royal lady in the film poster. Any guesses as to what kind of character she’ll be playing?

The movie is based on the classic Tamil historical fiction novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy by the same title. Meanwhile, the Ponniyin Selvan-I release date across India is set for September 30.
Word is that Bollywood music maestro AR Rahman is composing the music for the film.
Aishwarya was seen last in the Bollywood movie, Fanney Khan which was released in 2018. Aside from that, there were rumors that she was roped in for a Netflix series about Lahore’s Heeramandi. However, there are no updates on that.
