Actress Nimra Khan was the talk of the town with her marriage and later divorce. Now the actress is opening up about the abuse that led to her split.
The Alif Allah Aur Insan actress faced a lot of evasive questions when it came to her divorce. At the time, Nimra Khan described her marriage as a wrong decision in her life and opted for divorce. Meanwhile, her ex-husband seemed bitter about the ordeal and had some not-so-nice things to say about her.
While Nimra Khan didn’t share much, Nausheen Shah shared how her husband was abusive. That’s when fans connected the dots about the Aye Musht-e-Khaak actress and her ‘bruises from accidents’.
After the divorce, Nimra Khan mostly remained quiet about the matter until now. In her appearance on Timeout with Ahsan Khan, she talked about her abusive marriage.
She revealed details about her trauma and the physical abuse. Nimra Khan talked about how she was initially inclined to hide the fact.
“My fans are amazing, they remained with me through thick and thin as fans know about hard times I faced, for example, my accident and after that my divorce, my fans were with me , that support was unexpected, I just had divorce, and now I would like to talk about it, I never talked about it before, now I will talk about it as there is nothing hidden about it, I want to tell that every story has two sides, the happy pictures with husband were what I was showing to people but what was happening with me was something not to be shared with, you should tolerate abuse to an extent, when it intensifies and exceeds from level of tolerance, one should leave right away, take a decision and move on, I was confident because of my parents , I saw tough and crucial times , my fans only accept me as a smiling face, I wanna smile for them.”
Based on her experience it seems it took the actress a while to realize she shouldn’t be tolerating abuse.
