Remember, Dr. Azra, the Dubai-based chiropractor that went viral over her henna designs? Well, now she has a contract with Adidas.
The sportswear company reached out to the United Arab Emirates resident with the idea of henna sneakers! What is that? Kicks adorn with henna designs.
Dr. Azra shared the news in an Instagram post.
“Adidas reached to me and presented the idea of designing henna on shoes.”
According to the chiropractor, it was difficult doing what the company requested.
“Though it was challenging to work with henna on white sneakers, it was fun to work with the architecture of the shoe.”
The shoes are currently displayed in Dubai Mall and have garnered a lot of attention. There are currently three different pairs of these shows on display at the company’s outlet in the mall. Though they are not yet available for sale to consumers.
Many sneaker fiends already want to get their hands on a pair of these limited-edition henna sneakers.
So whys is Adidas doing this now? The company has been working on collaborating with regional artists and designs. Looks like that trend is paying off as their designs keep getting better with every new collab.
