With General Elections in Punjab right around the corner, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz tried to impress her “fans” and potential voters with her fruit chaat-making skills.
The PML-N vice president got into the spirit of Ramadan as she tweeted a video clip of her iftar preps at home. Maryam and her BFF, Marriyum Aurangzeb, were busy in the kitchen preparing one of the most important iftar dishes of all — Fruit Chaat!
The Information and Broadcasting Minister was tasked the all-time important task of sprinkling chaat masala on big fruit bowl. (Absolutely riveting stuff!)
Maryam shared the clip with a cute tweet, reminding everyone that she’s the “woman of the people” and not just another corrupt, power-hungry politician/tyrant. She wrote,
Iftar preps and what’s iftar without fruit chat! Sirf siyasat nahi kerte 😋
One tweep called out the PML-N vice president on her tone-deaf clip, reminding her that the awaam can’t afford flour these days, and are even looting small Rs. 10 fruit bags just to make ends meet.

Many speculate that Maryam Nawaz’s recent tweet is a way of getting in touch with the awaam before the upcoming General Elections in Punjab.
It is to be noted that the Supreme Court has finally announced the verdict on the petition challenging the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) order postponing the General Elections in Punjab.
According to details, a three-member bench — comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, and Justice Munib Akhtar, declared ECP’s 22 March decision null and void, ordering the ECP to hold polls.
The bench observed that ECP’s unconstitutional decision to delay the polls wasted 13 days. The bench also observed that ECP had no right to postpone the elections.
The apex court has also given a new date for General Elections in Punjab, stating polls be held in the province on 14 May.
