In a recent episode of her talk show, Mathira addressed the inappropriate behavior of Chahat Fateh Ali Khan.
During his appearance, the viral singer attempted to touch Mathira in a manner that visibly made her uncomfortable, a moment that didn’t go unnoticed by fans and viewers alike.
Breaking her silence on the matter, Mathira expressed her disappointment over what transpired. She also clarified her stance on a viral behind-the-scenes (BTS) video uploaded by Chahat Fateh Ali Khan without her consent.
“I want to tell you that a video circulating on social media from Chahat Fateh Ali Khan was not posted with my consent,” Mathira explained, adding, “I conduct a show, and we respect our guests. We were highly respectful of him, but he uploaded one of my BTS videos without permission.”
The host confirmed that the interaction made her uncomfortable, stating, “Yes, I was uncomfortable. If he shot the video, why did he post it without my permission? People do such different things for fame; I am disappointed in this behavior.”
Mathira, known for her bold and unapologetic personality, made it clear that her confidence should not be misinterpreted as an invitation for inappropriate conduct. “I am a bold celebrity, but that doesn’t allow anyone to hug me or film me for no reason. Technically, no one wants to be touched by others like this,” she emphasized.
She further revealed that her team had reached out to Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, asking him to delete the video, but their requests have gone unanswered. “We messaged him to remove it, but he hasn’t deleted it, nor has he apologized. It was shared without my consent. I don’t know his intentions,” she said.
Addressing the backlash she sometimes faces for speaking out, Mathira stood firm, stating, “After these things, people still think we are rude, but we should be like that. I am announcing that no one is allowed to touch me.”
Fans have rallied around Mathira, praising her for speaking up and setting boundaries in a professional environment. The incident has sparked discussions on consent and the treatment of women in the entertainment industry, with many lauding Mathira for addressing the matter openly.
As the controversy continues to make waves, viewers and supporters alike are calling for accountability and a greater understanding of respect and boundaries in all spaces, particularly in the public eye.
