Fashion icon Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, aka HSY, has officially stepped into Hollywood with Disney+’s newly released series, Deli Boys. Not only has the celebrated designer brought his signature flair to the show’s costumes, but he’s also made his on-screen debut, becoming the first Pakistani designer to do so.

Directed by Ahmed Ibrahim and Jenni Konner (Girls), Deli Boys premiered on March 6 on Hulu and Disney+, offering a darkly comedic tale of family, crime, and chaos.

The series follows two pampered Pakistani-American brothers, Mir and Raj (played by Asif Ali and Saagar Shaikh), whose lives spiral out of control after the sudden death of their convenience store magnate father.

As they attempt to take over their father’s criminal empire, they’re thrust into a world of tax evasion, cocaine smuggling, and secrets they never saw coming.

HSY’s Hollywood debut is a double whammy. He styled lead actors Poorna Jagannathan, Saagar Shaikh, and Zainne Saleh for episodes eight and nine, while also appearing on screen in the same episodes. His designs bring authentic desi aesthetics to the show, adding depth to its visual storytelling.

“Designing for Deli Boys has been an exhilarating experience, but making my Hollywood debut in the show makes it even more special,” HSY shared. “This collaboration is not just about fashion — it’s about representation. Bringing authentic South Asian designs to a global audience in a mainstream Hollywood production is an honor, and I’m thrilled for everyone to witness it.”

Deli Boys has been praised for its unique blend of humor and grit, multidimensional South Asian characters, and a narrative that feels fresh and culturally resonant.
