Hollywood’s rising sensation, Sydney Sweeney, has reportedly called off her wedding to longtime fiancé Jonathan Davino.
The couple, who got engaged in 2022 after dating since 2018, are said to be navigating a “rough patch” in their relationship, leaving their romance hanging in the balance.
According to sources, the wedding, originally planned for May, has been postponed indefinitely. While the pair hasn’t officially split, insiders reveal they are taking time apart to reassess their future. Sweeney, 27, has been staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel since mid-February, while Davino, 41, has kept a low profile.
The couple’s issues reportedly stem from Sweeney’s booming career. With a packed schedule that includes her return to Euphoria, a remake of Barbarella, and multiple film projects like The Housemaid and Scandalous!, Sweeney’s workaholic tendencies have caused tension. “She’s extremely busy, and it’s hard for them to spend quality time together,” a source shared.
Adding to the strain are rumors that often swirl around Sweeney’s on-screen chemistry with co-stars. In 2023, her playful promotion of Anyone But You with Glen Powell sparked affair rumors, which the duo cheekily leaned into for publicity.
Friends close to the couple fear their relationship may not survive. “Sydney wants a family and marriage, but not as soon as Jonathan does,” an insider revealed. “There’s a disconnect between their timelines, and she’s focused on nurturing her career right now.”
Sweeney has been candid about her drive to succeed, rooted in witnessing her family’s financial struggles growing up. “I’m a huge saver. I like making smart choices with my money,” she told Glamour last year.
In addition to their romantic relationship, Sweeney and Davino are business partners, running the production company Fifty-Fifty Films. Despite rumors that Davino funds the venture, Sweeney has firmly denied them, stating, “We’re teammates. We want to see each other succeed.”
