Delicious and Easy Meat Recipes to Savor This Eid ul Adha

As Eid al-Adha 2025 approaches, it’s time to celebrate the spirit of sacrifice with a feast that brings family and friends together. This year, elevate your festive table with these delicious and easy mutton and beef recipes that highlight the rich flavors of Qurbani meat. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, these dishes are perfect for the occasion.

Baked Chops

 

Ingredients:

  • white vinegar 2 tbsp
  • salt 1 tsp
  • cumin powder 1-1/2 tsp
  • brown sugar 3 tsp
  • peprika powder 2 tsp
  • red chili powder 1 tsp
  • small cardamom powder 1/4 tsp
  • cinnamon powder 1/4 tsp
  • black pepper crushed 1 tsp
  • garlic, hand-chopped 6-7 cloves
  • garlic powder 1/2 tsp
  • mutton chops 550-600 gm
  • BBQ sauce, 2 tbsp

 

Process

  1.  In a bowl, mix all ingredients for marination.,
  2. Take a baking pan, layer foil on it, then layer butter paper on it. (Butter paper is for saving chops from sticking to the bottom.)
  3. Rub the marinade well on the chops.
  4. Keep chops on butter paper.
  5. Cover it with foil. Press and seal the edges so that it is closed tightly. Preheat the oven to 150 °C. Cook the chops in it for 2 hours.
  6. 6. After 2 hours, take them out, open the foil. Apply 2 tbsp of BBQ sauce on the chops equally.
    Now bake them again at 250 °C for 5-6 minutes.

Namkeen Gosht

Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton or beef, cut into pieces
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups water

Process:

  1. In a pressure cooker, add the mutton or beef, salt, black pepper, and soy sauce. Mix well to coat the meat.
  2. Add 2 cups of water and close the pressure cooker lid.
  3. Cook on medium heat for 30 minutes (for beef, 45 minutes) until the meat is tender and the water has mostly evaporated.
  4. Once cooked, check the seasoning and adjust if needed. Serve hot with naan or rice.

Arab-style Kofta

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground mutton or beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

Process:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground meat with onion, parsley, allspice, cumin, black pepper, and salt. Knead the mixture for 5 minutes until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small oval patties or sausage-like shapes.
  3. Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium heat. Brush the koftas with olive oil.
  4. Grill the koftas for 4-5 minutes on each side until fully cooked and slightly charred.
  5. Serve with hummus, pita bread, and a side of fresh salad.

Mutton Biryani

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 3 cups basmati rice
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 4 tbsp biryani masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 green cardamoms
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp saffron (soaked in 1/4 cup warm milk)
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 cups water (for rice)

Process:

  1. Marinate the mutton with yogurt, biryani masala, turmeric, red chili powder, ginger-garlic paste, and salt. Let it sit for 2 hours.
  2. Rinse the basmati rice and soak for 30 minutes. Boil 5 cups of water with cardamoms, cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaf. Add rice and cook until 70% done (about 5-7 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat 2 tbsp ghee and fry the sliced onions until golden brown. Remove half for garnish.
  4. Add the marinated mutton to the pot with the remaining onions. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, then add tomatoes and cook until the meat is tender (about 45 minutes). Add a splash of water if needed.
  5. Layer the parboiled rice over the mutton. Sprinkle cilantro, mint, fried onions, and saffron milk on top. Drizzle with remaining ghee.
  6. Cover the pot tightly and cook on low heat for 30 minutes (dum style) until the rice is fully cooked and aromatic. Serve hot.
