In a devastating incident in Rawalpindi, a father fatally shot his daughter, Mehak Shehzadi, after she refused to deactivate her TikTok account, according to a report. The altercation took place in the Dhoke Chohdrian, Takht Pari area, under the jurisdiction of Ruat Police Station.
Authorities state that the father, enraged by his daughter’s refusal, shot her in a fit of anger. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed based on the statement of Head Constable Shehbaz Anjum Kayani, confirming the murder. The suspect fled the scene, and police are actively searching for him.
This incident echoes another recent tragedy. On June 2, 17-year-old Sana Yousuf, a first-year MBBS student and popular TikTok influencer with over a million followers, was killed in Islamabad’s G-13/1 area, within the Sumbal police station’s jurisdiction.
Originally from Upper Chitral, Sana was known for her vibrant content on TikTok and Instagram. Police reports indicate that 22-year-old Omar Hayat shot her twice after she rejected his romantic advances during a visit to her home.
Initial reports suggested that the assailant forced his way into her residence. Despite being rushed to KRL Hospital and later Shifa Hospital, Sana succumbed to her injuries. The suspect was apprehended in Faisalabad within 20 hours, and the police recovered the weapon, a pistol, from his possession.
