Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao announced their split and we don’t know if we can believe in love anymore.
The couple of 15 years were a Bollywood dream team more than a celebrity couple. However, Mr. Perfectionist and the filmmaker called it quits after over a decade together.
Looks like that seven-year itch that ruins marriages came around. In the statement announcing their split, the couple affirmed they will continue to co-parent their son Azad.
“We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does,” the statement said.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao will also remain a dream team for film projects, and their co-owned nonprofit Paani Foundation.
“Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives – no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other.”
Kiran Rao is a film producer and director. Aamir Khan met the filmmaker on the set of the Oscar-nominated 2001 film Lagaan. By 2005 they tied the knot. In 2016, they co-founded the Paani Foundation, a non-profit fighting against drought in the western state of Maharashtra.
“In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love,” the statement added.
