Ali Zafar’s Throwback Painting Will Leave You Impressed [Pictures]

Singer and artist throws it back to creating an art masterpiece ‘of guitar and guns’

Ali Zafar’s latest masterpiece ‘Of guitars and guns‘ is making rounds on the Internet. No this isn’t a song but rather an old painting created by Zafar. The Mushk singer shared a throwback of his painting from the times when Pakistan’s entertainment industry was receiving threats by terrorists.

Singing sensation Ali Zafar is also an artist and an actor. How many of you remember how he started his career as an artist and actor before making his way into the music scene?

The Teefa in Trouble actor tweeted the painting he created during a difficult time for the music scene in Pakistan.

“Titled ‘Of guitars and guns.’ Had painted this during the time our music scene was severely hit due to terrorist attacks. #Art.”

 

The artwork left fans speechless, reminding us how art is a powerful tool for expression and   communication. This tool also acts as a time capsule allowing people to look back at an artist’s train of thought, inspiration and influnces at a certain period in time. Ali Zafar’s painting is some blast from the past, huh?

Threats from terrorists is not all that affects the biz here in Pakistan. One example is that of Pashto singer Gulzar Alam, who had to flee to Afghanistan over threats from trade rivals. The singer only recently returned to Peshawar for the funeral rites of his father, after seeking refuge from local traders in Peshawar four years ago.

His security concerns escalated to a point where he was forced to travel to Kabul for the security of his family members. He continued efforts to have a jirga peacefully resolve the issue with rival traders.

“I had just moved my family members to Kabul as they were under threats of being attacked by my rival traders. I opted to live there on my own green passport in a rented flat not from far away from Pakistan embassy in Afghan capital. I had gone there with attention to be back home once my issues get resolved through a jirga.”
