With the government encouraging everyone to get vaccinated, many citizens including public figures went ahead and got the jab. And that’s exactly what Anoushey Ashraf did.. just not like any other Pakistani citizen. The VJ few all the way to the United States to get vaccinated and this has irked the internet.
Netizens are calling her out for ‘vaccine shopping’ and how her actions will promote further distrust among the Pakistani population which is still skeptical of getting the shot. Celebs often endorse things through their actions and with Anoushey being an influencer, this certainly does not reflect well. By flying across the Atlantic to get vaccinated, people got the message that vaccines on this side of the pond aren’t reliable.

“t didn’t happen if it’s not on Instagram. First dose down! #vaccinatedandhappy @cvspharmacy conspiracy theories aside, you live only once, life is short, trust the process. Get jabbed. ❤️❤️ @pfizerinc”

Netizens piled on the criticism for her decision to fly across the world to get vaccinated and then make a public display of it.
Some people even questioned how she was allowed to travel to the United States when travel from Pakistan has been barred given the spike in cases and proximity to India.
In case you didn’t know citizens are still permitted to travel from category B & C countries to their home state. All they need is a negative PCR test taken no less than 24 hours before their flight.
Netizens weren’t happy about her ‘vaccine shopping’.
Someone else explained how Pfizer vaccine is safe for pregnant women and children over the age of 12. This explains why some people would want to travel. But that doesn’t explain why Anoushey Ashraf did so.
