Renowned Pakistani singer and songwriter Atif Aslam continues to grow in popularity. Recently, he has gained over five million followers on the photo and video sharing social media platform that is Instagram.
Atif Aslam joins an exclusive list of famous Pakistani personalities that includes members like Mahira Khan and Aiman Khan. Only a few Pakistani public figures have followers that are in the millions and Atif Aslam is now one of them.
The singer is still far from reaching the numbers amassed by actresses like Mahira Khan, who has around six million followers. The most followed celebrity from Pakistan is another actress – Aiman Khan, who has around 6.2 million followers.
Atif Aslam is a global powerhouse, who has performed all over the world, including in Bollywood. The Pakistani singer has made so many songs for popular Bollywood films that the Indian industry is conflicted about whether or not to remove his songs from their music label or request him to produce more great songs for their upcoming films.

Recently the pop singer’s work for Bollywood has come under fire by petty Indians who are trying to dissociate themselves from anything that is remotely related to Pakistan.
The Indian music label, T-Series, came under fire for showcasing Atif Aslam’s latest song on their channel. Ironically, the song was made for a brand new Bollywood film Marjaavan.
Indians on Twitter started the #TakeDownAtifAslamSong trend and forced the music label to take action. T-Series didn’t actually remove the song but made it “Private” on their channel (meaning people at T-Series are probably still rocking to Atif Aslam tracks on their phones).
