Another year and the complaints against the Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA) pile up. This year, Pakistani rappers the Baluch Twins called out the PISA 2021 management for mistreatment.
The rappers called out the PISA 2021 management on social media. In a live video on Instagram and a written statement, the popular music duo shared how their mental health issues were triggered by the mistreatment.
Turns out the rappers didn’t even make it to the awards show following deliberate moves by the organizing team, such as getting their tickets refunded.
“Yesterday Nov 4th , we were supposed to fly from Karachi to Dubai. Everything was prepared accordingly, our tickets & Visas. PISA team were in contact with us for more than 3 months now. On 2nd of November, we got a message that our flights had been cancelled by Emirates Airlines. Upon inquiring the reason, they had nothing to say.”
Sharing how they were treated and suffered mental distress due to mistreatment from the PISA management, the duo shared how they’re filing for emotional damages.
“Our father, who is a lawyer, took immediate action against the damage (specially emotional) that was done by them. We were totally shattered and traumatized by this behavior shown by PISA’s team.”
Additionally, all those that bought tickets to PISA 2021 just for the music duo were basically the victims of false advertising as the management didn’t make an effort to fly in the rappers for the show.
“A number of people from the Gulf states especially Muscat, Al Ain, Sharjah, and Dubai who bought tickets of PISA just to appreciate us and experience the representation of Baluch Community will be left disappointed.
This leaves us traumatized and shattered. We believe, this was done deliberately by PISA’s team. It is highly unethical. They kept on ignoring our messages even after reading them, all of this was unreasonable. All the other artists were boarded on the same flight, while we just kept waiting.”
Why bother going to the award show after several celebs complained about their mismanagement last year? In the case of the Baluch Twins, the two were selected as nominees in the Best Singer of the Year category.
They intended to go for the fans but their plans were soiled.
