Your mother can’t always make the bad things go away. That’s something two brothers from Derby found out the hard way as police busted them for drug dealing. The brothers hid incriminating evidence, about £12,500 in drug money under their sleeping mother, but police found it anyway.
The brothers Majeed Ahmed, aged 29, and Zahir Ahmed, aged 18, of Normanton, Derby have been imprisoned after confessing to possession of various drugs with intent to supply.
They also concealed £12,500 in cash under their sleeping mother. The brothers locked the drug money in a tin and placed it under a bed while their mother was fast asleep.

Their drug money and incriminating evidence were discovered during a police raid. The tin didn’t just include money but also a dealer list and Majeed’s fingerprints.
Drug deal gone wrong
Earlier Majeed had fled from police who saw him carrying out a deal near his address. According to prosecutor Stuart Lody, police went to the brothers’ home address intending to carry out a drugs warrant on October 21, 2019.
That’s when police saw Majeed handing over something to a known drug user on Church Street. Police pursued him and caught up. 33 wraps of either heroin or crack cocaine were found in Majeed’s possession.
