Busted: Heropanti 2 Gets Trolled For Copying John Wick

Why would you even do that?

Bollywood copies Hollywood

Plagiarism is everywhere. From fashion, music and even film industry we see a lot of plagiarized material or as desi people like to call it, ‘sasti copy.’

It didn’t emerge recently, instead we have been following the ‘chaapu’ tradition of our ancestors from time immemorial. It’s just that back in the day people used to get away with it easily but these days, the ‘internet phuppo’ simply doesn’t care about anyone.

Once plagiarized, the sharp eyes of internet can find out the culprit even if he lives in the jungles of Amazon. Remember the ‘Koi dekhe na, dekhe shabbir tou dekhega’ mantra? Yeah, same.

And when it comes to plagiarism, Bollywood and Lollywood are always in a tussle of ‘who can copy it best?’ But let’s keep Lollywood out of the picture because it’s a whole another debate.

Bollywood Copies Hollywood – The Saga Continues

Speaking of Bollywood, do you remember all the remakes and straight up copies they made out of some of the best Hollywood movies? And they weren’t even good enough. Dostana, Dil Bole Hadippa, Salam-E-Ishq, Jab Harry Met Sejal are just a few names to begin with.

And despite being labelled as ‘copied from Hollywood’ Bollywood still makes these kind of movies every year.

And giving a fresh start to their ‘new year, new me’ resolution, Bollywood has yet again landed in another controversy. And this time it’s Tiger Shroff’s new movie poster for Heropanti 2.

Tiger Shroff posted this image on his Twitter profile.

For those unaware, Heropanti 2 is a sequel to 2014 hit movie Heropanti, which marked the debut of Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon

“This one is so special to me. Blessed and grateful to be carrying forward another franchise with my mentor Sajid sir forward,” Tiger Shroff wrote on his Twitter.

The posters of the film are out already and netizens can’t help making comparisons with Keanu Reeve’s John Wick.

What should we call it? Photoshop at its best or worst?

Is John Wick Indian?

As soon as the posters appeared on social media, people were convinced that it was a rip off. Soon comparisons were made and it turns out that netizens were actually right. The poster does resemble a lot with John Wick.

And this isn’t the only one, there are actually two posters and both of them are very similar to the hit Hollywood franchise.

Come on Bollywood, you could do it better.

The funny part is that John Wick was trending in India instead of Heropanti 2. And Twitter responded to it in the most hilarious way.

A wonderful concoction.

With all that being said, Bollywood really needs to up its game. It’s 2020 and we can’t take any more of their plagiarized plots, songs or even posters.

Says who? Says the internet. All of these responses, troll attacks and memes are telling you not to copy Hollywood movies. Then why are you still doing it Bollywood, why?

The internet needs an answer.
