As the much-anticipated series, Badshah Begum is moving fast into the production phase, we finally get a look at the full cast.
The period piece has been in the pipeline for a while now. It was expected to be a web series but now apparently a television drama serial is what we’re getting.
Meanwhile, now the trailer of the upcoming production by Rafay Rashdi and Momina Duraid is finally out.
The Badshah Begum trailer is generated quite a buzz, with a captivating femme-centric storyline. The period drama features a women-empowerment theme despite the historical premise.
Additionally, it has a star-studded cast. The Badshah Begum cast roped in big names like Zara Noor Abbas, Farhan Saeed, Ali Rehman, Yasir Hussain and Shahzad Nawaz.
Previously it was stated that Iman Aly would be the leading lady in the series, while Faysal Quraishi was supposed to play the antagonist. However, now it seems Yasir Hussain or Farhaan Saeed will be taking that mantle.
Other not-so-famous members of the cast include Raqeeb Se famed Hamza Sohail, Komal Meer, Abul Hasan, Tanya Hussain, and Hibba Aziz.
According to Something Haute, the drama serial will feature many picturesque locations.
“Most dramas that we see on TV are usually set in a few households. The story moves from one house to another house. But for this serial, there was a lot of room for us to explore the locations, … The food we got to eat during shoot was too good!”
