The FIA arrested the late Dr. Aamir Liaquat’s third wife, Dania Shah, from Lodhran, Punjab, on Thursday and a judicial magistrate in Sindh sent her to jail on judicial remand subsequent to the leaked video case registered against her.
A judicial magistrate on Friday dismissed her application for bail as well.
Judicial Magistrate (East) Mukesh Kumar pronounced his order reserved after hearing arguments from the defense and prosecution on the bail plea of Dania Shah, who is currently in judicial custody.
The magistrate observed that the matter was at a premature stage of investigation since no investigation report under Section 173 of the criminal procedure code had been filed yet.
He also noted that “no sexually explicit videos of the late MNA were recovered from the possession of Dania Shah”.
The prosecutor claimed that all such videos had been deleted by the suspect. He stated that she violated the victim’s fundamental rights to dignity, privacy, and modesty, which are absolute rights of every person.
As per the complainant’s counsel, the release of Aamir Liaquat’s personal videos in public was the main cause of his death.
It is pertinent to mention that, Dua Aamir, daughter of the late TV anchor, had filed an FIR against Dania Shah under Sections 20 (malicious code), 21 (cyber stalking), and 24 (legal recognition of offenses committed in relation to information system) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
Seems like it’s payback time.. both for husband and wife..
