The late-night pizza fiasco continues as Ushna Shah tries to justify her behaviour towards the pizza delivery boy. Recently, the Pakistani actress got into a bit of a controversy after she tweeted her interaction with the delivery boy.
How It All Started
Usha tweeted:

https://twitter.com/ushnashah/status/1183501899804413952?s=20
Calling out the delivery boy’s masculinity with slurs like “aap ek chaar saal ki bachi nahee hein”, “mardaangi peida Karein” and the classic “Marrd banein” didn’t sit well with the netizens as they called out Ushna for being a bully.
People on Twitter started bashing the actress for demeaning the delivery boy for his fear of dogs. Netizens demanded that she apologize to the boy and stop posting such negative tweets.
are you alright? you demeaned a person in the food service industry when they are already overworked and underpaid, shame on you.

Ushna Comes To Her Own Defense
Ushna recently came forward to clarify the issue via video on Instagram. The actress admitted that her tweet was tone deaf and people misunderstood her. She claimed that she was jokingly using the slurs like “Marrd banein” to encourage the boy to put the pizza on the table as she held the dog.
“Because I was a girl holding the dog, he wasn’t trusting my strength. I was encouraging him to come and put it on the table, constantly telling him that I am holding the dog. But that did not work, so I jokingly told him ‘come on show some masculinity’ and because I know my patriarchal society, that kid enthusiastically came forward and kept the pizza on the table. I admit that I did use the patriarchy card which was a flaw of mine, it worked but I did not like that I had to use it to instil courage into the boy. I had posted that tweet just to start a discussion around masculinity,” she clarified.
Shah further provided some context to the story and said that her tweets were meant to be taken lightly and it wasn’t her intention to target a particular group. Finally, the actress drew the line and gave her haters a shut up call for the way they have bashed her on Twitter for ‘supposedly’ insulting the delivery boy.
“I DO NOT bully people and I sure as heck don’t tolerate BEING BULLIED. Enough,” read her caption along with the video.

What To Make Of It?
It is still up to debate whether Ushna’s actions were wrong or misunderstood. Let’s see what the netizens think of Ushna’s ‘apology/clarification’. But there is a lesson to be learned here. As Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother once said:
“Nothing good ever happens after 2AM.” Even if it’s pizza.
