The Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actress opened up about her reasons for turning down the role. She felt at a disconnect with her character.

“It happens that when you read a script you feel a connection and for some time I have been wanting to do scripts to which I feel connected. When I read the role of Hira in Mere Paas Tum Ho, I was not able to relate that much. I couldn’t relate to it and I knew if I can’t relate to it then I cant perform.”

As for the questionable comments from the writer behind MPTH, Kubra Khan stated that while she respects Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s work, she disagrees with his opinions. Since she can ‘differentiate between the art and the artist‘, therefore she has no qualms working with him.

“The work he does is good but I do disagree with a lot of things he says.”

In fact, she will be working with him in London Nahi Jaungi. Previously screen-writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had to apologize to Saba Hameed to get her on board the project.

“My opinion about Khalil Sahab is-his art is amazing, it’s beyond amazing. But I do agree that there are things he says there is no need of that. I am doing London Nahi Jaungi because his art is phenomenal. I am going for his art, I have no interactions with him,”

She hopes KRQ statements don’t negatively affect London Nahi Jaungi. Kubra Khan is really excited about the role that is ‘nothing like Durdana‘.

Comments

  1. kubra did the right thing as she doesn’t know how to act. Hira Mani was the best choice and she did justice with her role.

  2. Who so ever was offered the role, in the end Ayeza Khan as Mehwish and Hira Mani as Hania steal the show…. So no regrets
