Esra Bilgiç

Turkish actress Esra Bilgiç has become a household name in Pakistan due to the insane popularity of Diriliş: Ertuğrul. The actress was recently announced as the goodwill ambassador for PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi, but it appears to have irked many.

Her fans in the country were over the moon with the news of her appointment and they still are very happy to see her support Peshawar Zalmi.

Esra Bilgiç even made an elegant appearance in the team’s anthem, Kingdom along with its brand ambassadors Mahira Khan, Hania Aamir and Ali Rehman Khan.

Peshawar Zalmi chairman, Javed Afridi took to his social media to announce that Esra Bilgiç has officially joined the Zalmi family. He wrote,

WELCOME ESRA BILGIC @esbilgic TO THE ZALMI FAMILY.

After that, the Ertuğrul star also shared her excitement about getting on board with the PSL team. The actress shared a photo of herself and said she will be supporting the team throughout the tournament. She wrote in both English and in Urdu, however, she made a little mistake.

Esra wrote that she is proud to join the team, but she accidentally mixed the gender for verbs and wrote, ‘karunga’ instead of ‘karungi’.

The actress was trolled for her poor Urdu. Some even mocked her saying, if she doesn’t know the language, she shouldn’t use it.

Cultural stereotypes were also brought in.
