Ex-Boyfriend Blames Dr Maha Shah’s Father Over Her Death

He denies allegations of torture and drugs.

The case of Dr. Maha Shah’s murder takes another surprising turn as one of the suspects, Junaid Khan, denies allegations of forcing the victim to commit suicide. Instead, he blamed Maha’s father for her death as he believes she committed suicide over a family dispute.

The death of Dr Maha Shah shocked everyone nationwide.

Recently, one of the accused in the murder case, Junaid Khan, spoke about the allegations against him during a presser. Junaid rejected the allegations of forcing Dr. Maha Shah to take her own life as he claims her suicide was due to differences with her father.

He stated that Maha had developed differences with her father after he had sold some piece of land that was owned by her.

“She wanted to purchase her own house after selling this piece of land owned jointly by Maha and her mother,” he claimed and further added that she was an independent woman and didn’t need her father.

Junaid also claimed that when the coronavirus pandemic struck the nation, Maha’s father forcefully took her to Mirpurkhas.

When asked about the gunshot from the house, Junaid mentioned that eye-witnesses have testified about hearing a quarrel before the shot was fired inside the house. And afterward, Maha’s father, Pir Asif Shah, interfered in the process of post-mortem of her body.

The accused said Pir Asif Shah tried to clear his name as soon as these differences between him and Maha surfaced, but his statements were conflicting.

“Even statements from her father are conflicting,” he said while denying that he had ever tortured Dr Maha.

As for the accusations of drugging the victim, Junaid denied those claims. He stated that he had known the victim for four years and even brought her gifts on birthdays and Valentine Days. He further added that no complaints were registered against him and if anyone were to be tested for drugs, it is Maha Shah’s brother Nad-e-Ali. Junaid claims that he was one the one who used to take drugs inside the house.

With Junaid’s statements, this case is becoming more and more complicated. It remains to be seen who was responsible for the Maha’s tragic suicide.
