He talks about his latest production ‘Dunk’.

Fahad Mustafa is spilling the details on his upcoming production ‘Dunk‘. The drama serial follows sexual harassment allegations against a university professor.

In a recent interview, Fahad Mustafa shared that the plot of Dunk revolves around false accusations of sexual harassment. Dunk sees Bilal Abbas Khan, Sana Javed and Naumaan Ejaz in key roles. The central characters in the series appear to be Sana Javed as the accuser and Naumaan Ejaz as the accused.

“We [Big Bang Productions] have always tried to show different kinds of stories … As producer it is my responsibility to tell every kind of story and I believe people will enjoy watching this drama,”

Much like drama serial Jhooti, there has been a lot of criticism towards the drama serial’s narrative. In a country where women already struggle to come forth about harassment let alone sexual harassment, narratives like that in Dunk discredit their struggle.

On that matter, Fahad Mustafa clarifies that this is about the people that exploit movements like AASHA and #MeToo and damage the cause;

“95% cases of sexual harassment are genuine but in some cases, people are falsely accused, so we have to tell every kind of story.”

Fahad Mustafa even asserted that companies should not stop working with those accused of sexual harassment.

“I think, brands should set an example by working with the people who have been falsely accused of sexual harassment.”
