A man shot dead his 18-year-old daughter in Vano Ghari village of Sardaryab on Sunday after a dancing video of her went viral on social media.
The deceased girl’s mother informed city police that she, her daughter, and a son-in-law were there at her home when the girl’s father, Bakhtiar Gul, took a pistol and shot down his daughter.
She said her spouse went to this extent after being ridiculed over the social media video.
She stated that the deceased girl worked as a domestic helper at the home of a wealthy family in Islamabad, where a guy from Swat also worked.
The woman stated that the boy made her a marriage proposal, but she declined since she was already engaged.
However, she reported that the boy began blackmailing her, and when he failed, he posted her dance video on social media with a bogus ID in retaliation.
She stated that on the day of the tragedy, they decided to file an FIR against the youngster in Islamabad.
