There were bound to be movies about the current pandemic and Gohar Rasheed already had an idea about how he’s going about this. The Mann Mayal actor is teaming up with Faryal Mahmood to make a movie about the COVID-19 lockdown.
The coronavirus outbreak has affected everything including the entertainment industry. Creators now need to look for a new game plan for future productions. Looks like Gohar Rasheed and Faryal Mehmood have a plan as for a movie titled ‘Lockdown‘ about the COVID-19 lockdown.

Lockdowns have been a common practice worldwide to deal with the global pandemic and have had a range of effects across the world. So what aspects are Gohar Rasheed and Faryal Mehmood focusing on?
The Yalghaar actor told Images;
“It’s a love story with the backdrop of lockdown and the horrors of Covid-19. The whole world is experiencing it right now, … how a common man get affected by [the coronavirus], how a simple couple gets affected by the horror of Covid-19 and the repercussions of lockdown.”
He opened up about starting a project like this in Pakistan, which is a first.
“It’s very real. The concept is very original. It hasn’t been attempted before especially in Pakistan. I was completely sold on Abu Aleeha’s vision for this film. We’re trying our best. I really hope with this project we enter the OTT [streaming service] market.”

Faryal Mahmood was pretty hush about the story afraid to give away spoilers. She revealed that this project was for a digital streaming platform.
“The film is being made for Netflix or Amazon.”
Abida Ahmed is writing the script, with Abu Aleeha in the director’s chair. Asad Malik will be the director of photography and Mont Blanc will produce the movie. There is no date for an expected for the Lockdown release date.
Shooting is still underway for the film. Hopefully, the cast and crew are staying safe while practicing social distancing at work!
